Islamabad, January 19, 2016 (PPI-OT): Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to revamp all the parks of the Federal Capital. All missing facilities in the parks would be provided in addition to up-gradation and rehabilitation of green areas in line with international standards. A miniature garden would also be developed in the famous F-9 Park to further add to the beauty of the Capital city.
This was decided during a meeting at held at CDA Headquarters here on Friday. The meeting was chaired by Chairman CDA, Maroof Afzal while Member Administration Amer Ali Ahmed, Member Environment Sanaullah Aman and senior officers of Environment Wing were also present on this occasion.
Chairman CDA, Maroof Afzal was informed that Environment has chalked out a comprehensive plan to rehabilitate all 180 parks of the city. Chairman CDA was apprised during the first phase of the project; mega parks including Lake View Park, Kachnar Park, Rose and Jasmine Garden, Daman-e-Koh and Zoo area will be up-graded. The meeting was briefed that uplift of kids play areas, refurbishment of different installation, up-gradation of footpaths and provision of proper lightening system are under the scope of this project.
The meeting was informed that special focus has been given to uplift of children parks and in this context 15 children parks in the city would be upgraded with added facilities. The meeting was further informed that in addition to renovation of parks facilities, different walking tracks in the city would also be up-graded to ensure state-of-the-art recreational and healthy facilities in all parts of the city.
The meeting was also informed that in addition to the developed parks, different facilities like walking tracks and small parks in the green areas will be also uplifted. Chairman CDA was informed that project of miniature garden has also been envisaged and it has been planned to establish Islamabad’s first miniature garden in F-9 Fatima Jinnah Park.
Chairman CDA, Maroof Afzal has directed the environment wing to complete codal formalities at the earliest so that the project could be executed at the earliest. He said that Islamabad is in phase of revamping as CDA’s Islamabad up-gradation and rehabilitation plan is being successfully carried out in the city and revamping and uplift of this basic facility will add more beauty and aesthetic uplift of Federal Capital.
He directed to explore innovative and modern ideas for further beautification of Islamabad. Chairman CDA, Maroof Afzal while appreciating the idea of establishment of miniature garden in the city said that the concept is popular all around the world and its introduction in the Federal capital will help add to the beauty of the city.
