Solution of energy crisis is top priority of Government: Shahbaz Sharif

Lahore, July 14, 2013 (PPI-OT): Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that solution of energy crisis is the foremost priority of the government and steps are being taken on war footing to overcome this serious problem.

He said that it is essential to overcome shortage of electricity as soon as possible so as to promote trade and economic activities for putting the country on the road to progress and development. He said that Pakistan will be rid of terrorism, energy crisis and other problems under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif to ensure a bright future for the country.

He was talking to a delegation of workers of Pakistan Muslim League-N, here today. The Chief Minister said that service to the people is the mission of PML-N leadership and it has proved this fact through practically efforts. He said that revolutionary and unprecedented steps have been taken for the development of the province and welfare of the masses.

He said that metro bus service, Punjab Educational Endowment Fund, Punjab Education Foundation, distribution of laptops, solar lamps and other projects are example to prove this fact. He said that PML-N has achieved a historic victory in the general elections with the grace of Allah Almighty and it will come up to the expectations of the people and Pakistan will be transformed in accordance with the vision of Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal.

He said that journey towards progress and prosperity has been resumed and masses will be served with commitment and dedication. He said that Punjab government has launched health insurance scheme while metro bus project is being extended to other districts. He said that the scope of solid waste management is also being expanded to other big cities and this system is also being introduced in rural areas.

He said that Punjab government has announced a special package of four billion rupees for Ramazan ul Mubarik and quality essential items are being provided in Ramazan Bazaars at concessionary rates.

Referring to his visit to China, Shahbaz Sharif said that Chinese government has assured full cooperation in resolving energy crisis and implementation of the agreements signed with Chinese company will soon be started. He said that a special taskforce has been constituted for curbing power and gas theft and action is being taken against the elements involved in this practice without any discrimination.

The Chief Minister further said that quality, speed and transparency are the hallmark of the Punjab government and all development projects are being executed under this principle. He said that every penny of public money is being spent on welfare of people. The Chief Minister stressed upon PML-N workers to play an active role for the solution of peoples’ problems.
