Pakistan Pavilion Inaugurated at Japan IT Week 2026 in Tokyo

Tokyo: Ambassador of Pakistan to Japan, Abdul Hameed, today inaugurated the Pakistan Pavilion at Japan IT Week Spring 2026 in Tokyo. Pakistan is making its most significant presence yet, with a delegation of 12 IT companies presenting their solutions in software development, cloud services, cybersecurity, fintech, and business systems.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Pavilion has been organized with support from the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan and the Pakistan Software Export Board, in collaboration with JICA, to enhance Pakistan's IT influence within the Japanese market. Ambassador Abdul Hameed, speaking at the inauguration, highlighted that Pakistan's IT sector is gradually expanding, with companies acquiring experience in international markets. He noted that the participation aims to build long-term partnerships with Japanese businesses.

Referring to Japan's Society 5.0 initiative, the Ambassador stated that Pakistani companies could contribute to enhancing business processes, system development, and operational efficiency, especially in addressing challenges such as labor shortages and an aging population. He stressed that engagement with Japan requires consistency and reliability, suggesting that collaboration should commence with small, clearly defined projects to build mutual confidence.

Ambassador Abdul Hameed also pointed out the strong foundation of trust between Pakistan and Japan, citing decades of successful operations by Japanese companies in Pakistan. He suggested that this successful approach could be extended to the technology sector. The Pakistan Mission in Tokyo is actively facilitating connections between Pakistani and Japanese companies to ensure discussions lead to practical outcomes.

Pakistan's participation in Japan IT Week 2026 is part of ongoing efforts to expand exports, enter new markets, and establish sustainable business partnerships with Japan.
