Paris: A conference titled "Cotton thread-A multi-millennial history of the culture of Cotton of Pakistan" was held at the Embassy of Pakistan in Paris. The event gathered diplomats, UNESCO officials, representatives of the French textile industry, and fashion designers to delve into the extensive history of cotton cultivation in Pakistan and its evolution into a cornerstone of the global fashion industry.

According to Radio Pakistan, Ambassador Mumtaz Zahra Baloch spoke at the event, emphasizing that textiles and apparel are central to Pakistan's manufacturing and exports, employing a significant portion of the industrial workforce. The ambassador highlighted the journey from the spinning mills of Faisalabad to the export houses of Karachi and Lahore, demonstrating the sector's economic importance.

She further elaborated that cotton holds more than just economic value for Pakistan, being an integral part of the country's cultural heritage. This is reflected in the age-old traditions of spinning, weaving, embroidery, and textile craftsmanship that have been passed down through generations.
