Islamabad: Islamabad – Pindi Transporters Association postponed their wheel jam strike after successful round of talks with Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources. Transporters Association delegation was led by Mr. Sultan Awan who called on Ejaz Chaudhry, Secretary Petroleum and Natural Resources today. Representatives of District Administrations of Islamabad and Rawalpindi also participated in the meeting.
Islamabad – Pindi Transporters Association had earlier announced a wheel jam strike over non-availability of CNG for public transport. However, after assurance of the Ministry of Petroleum and the District Administration regarding supply of CNG to public transport in Pindi and Islamabad, the Transporters Association postponed the strike call.
The issue of establishment of separate / designated CNG stations for public transport in Pindi and Islamabad was also discussed in the meeting. The next round of talks will be held after 3-4 days.
