Islamabad: Adviser to Prime Minister for National Harmony and Chairman of All Pakistan Minorities Alliance (APMA), Dr. Paul Bhatti has said minorities are ready to render any sacrifice for the sovereignty of the country and pledged all out support to the government in the need of hour.
The Adviser expressed these views while addressing to the participants of prayer service held for President Asif Ali Zardari’s health at Khatoon-e-Fatima Church here on Sunday.
Dr. Paul said the democratic system in the country has been strengthened due to long struggle of PPP and appreciated government’s efforts it made for the welfare and socio-economic uplift of the minorities in Pakistan.
Parliamentarians of APMA who attended the prayer service include Tahir Naveed, Khalid Gill and Mrs. Najmi Saleem from Punjab, Saleem Khurseed Khokhar from Sindh,Jaafer Gorge from Balochistan and a large number of members of Christian community.
The prayer service was also held at Catholic Churches all over the country in Lahore, Raiwind, Rawalpindi, Multan, Faisalabad, Peshawar, Hyderabad and Karachi at the same time on the request of Dr. Paul Bhatti who himself telephoned to the Bishops of all the churches for the purpose.
