Karachi, March 11, 2014 (PPI-OT): Sh. Saqib Saeed Masood, Chairman, Pakistan Tanners Association in a press statement expressed his views on organizing Pakistan Pavilion with financial collaboration of TDAP for PTA member exporters in Lineapelle Fair, Bologna, Italy held from 11th to 13th March’2014. This year 17 companies are participating in this Mega event to display best quality of finished leather of all sorts in order to fetch maximum orders for boosting exports.
The Chairman, PTA further stated that with the assistance of TDAP, Pakistani tanners would be able to achieve sufficient export orders of leather and leather products in international market. He expected to seek TDAP’s full support of providing more space for organizing National Pavilion in next Lineapelle Fair, removal of 3-year’s condition for consecutive participation in International Fairs from TDAP’s Rules/guidelines and expeditious release of pending subsidies on account of its members participation in International Fairs organized by PTA with due approval of TDAP so that leather exporters may participate in the Int’l fairs enthusiastically and regularly to earn more foreign exchange for the country.
Sh. Saqib Saeed Masood also appreciated the efforts of the Consul General of Pakistan in Italy and his office for facilitating participation of PTA members in the fairs in befitting manner.
Chairman, PTA hopes that if the government facilitates the leather sector by providing level playing field and due cooperation its export can be increased at $ 3 billion in next 2-3 years.
