Supreme Court of Pakistan redresses grievance in Human Rights Case

Islamabad, June 04, 2013 (PPI-OT): The Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr. Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry took Notice on application of Pitras Masih Bhatti, R/o Sheikhupura registered through Human Rights Cell of Supreme Court of Pakistan, Islamabad.

He stated that the alleged accused fraudulently abducted his daughter from his house in his absence and also took away with his gold ornaments and cash. He prayed for arrest of the accused and recovery of his daughter and valuables.

Taking the cognizance, the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan ordered that:

“IGP Punjab be directed to form a team of senior officers to cause the recovery of alleged abductee and produce her before the D and SJ concerned for her statement/medical examination and report from D and SJ and IGP Punjab shall each to this Court within 15 days.”

Complying with the above directions, D and SJ Sheikhupura, submitted report that:

“Local police has produced record and report into this matter as per said report alleged abducted daughter of applicant has embraced Islam and changed her name as Mst. Saira Bibi and has contracted marriage with Dalawar Masih whho had also embraced Islam and changed his name as Dilawar Hussain.

She has got recorded her statement before Police in this regard. The alleged abductee appeared before Hon’ble Lahore High Court, Lahore and has also got recorded her statement.” As the grievance of the applicant has been redressed, the application was filed accordingly.
