Supreme Court fixes constitution petitions no. 77 to 85 of 2011 MEMO CASE on 19.12.2011

Islamabad: Supreme Court has fixed Constitution Petitions No. 77 to 85 of 2011 [Constitution Petition under Article 184(3) of the Constitution regarding alleged Memorandum to Admiral Mike Mullen by Mr. Hussain Haqqani, former Ambassador of Pakistan to the United States of America] on 19.12.2011 and issues notice to Attorney General for Pakistan.

It is pertinent to mention here that in pursuance of the order of the nine member bench headed by the Honourable Chief Justice of Pakistan dated 01.12.2011, wherein the consent of Mr. Tariq Khosa was obtained to work as Commission. Mr. Khosa informed the Registrar of this Court showing his inability to undertake the assignment.

The matter was placed before the Honourable Chief Justice of Pakistan who directed the office to circulate the note to all Honourable Judges who were the members of the Bench for their information and opinion.

In pursuance of the above order of the Honourable Chief Justice of Pakistan, all the Honourable Judges opined to fix the case in the Court and the Honourable Chief Justice also agreed with the opinion of the Honourable Judges that the case may be fixed in Court on 19.12.2011 (Monday) and notice was issued to Attorney General for Pakistan accordingly.
