Lahore, August 05, 2013 (PPI-OT): The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) is going to join hands for the first time with the Trade Development Authority Pakistan (TDAP) at the platform of Expo Pakistan being held from 26th to 29th September 2013 at Karachi Expo Centre.
This is the biggest trade fair in Pakistan, showcasing the largest collection of Pakistan’s export merchandise and services for domestic as well as international buyers. SMEDA will have a dedicated pavilion for SMEs from different trade and manufacturing sectors at Expo Pakistan.
The event would provide SMEs a unique opportunity to showcase their products parallel to the Large Scale Manufacturers. It is hoped that the event would pave way for regular participation of SMEs in this event of national importance in future.
TDAP and SMEDA are premium agencies of the Government of Pakistan for business promotion and support. The two organizations have collaborated to strengthen mutual coordination for extending marketing support to SMEs. One of these initiatives is Expo Pakistan that is expected to be followed up by continued collaborations between the two organizations in future.
TDAP has a vast pool of expertise and resources, inherited from its predecessor; the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB). As successor of EPB, the management of TDAP has brought in a much wider vision for the organization focusing on international trade development instead of export promotion only.
SMEDA on the other hand, has an all encompassing mandate for growth and development of SMEs across the country. With its experience and insight in the SME sector, the young history of SMEDA is enriched with hallmark initiatives for development of the SME sector bringing both short and long term benefits to the private sector.
