Islamabad, March 18, 2021 (PPI-OT): The Secretary, Ministry of Narcotics Control, Akbar Durrani, (TI)/PAS, visited the Regional Directorate, Anti Narcotics Force, Peshawar on Thursday, 18th March, 2021. Upon arrival, he was received by the Force Commander, Regional Directorate and officers of ANF. After one-on-one meeting with the Force Commander, ANF, the Secretary, MNC, visited various parts of the Regional Directorate and gave all the relevant details.
In the Conference Room, the Secretary, MNC, was given a comprehensive briefing about the role, functions and achievements of ANF along with the challenges being faced by the Force. In his remarks after the briefing, the Secretary, appreciated the efforts of the anti Narcotics force against the drug mafia. Furthermore, he assured about the Ministry’s support in resolving the challenges being faced by the Force.
The Secretary, MNC, then, on the basis of his vast and diverse experience, advised the present officers at Regional Directorate ANF about the significance of their timely action in combating drugs. After the briefing, the Secretary, MNC, recorded his remarks on Visitors’ Book followed by a group photograph. Akbar Hussain Durrani also visited Torkham border to overview the arrangements along the border line. Effective border management is key to control drug smuggling across border, the secretary said.
