Karachi, January 16, 2013 (PPI-OT): Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah today presided a high level meeting of Planning and Development department of review the progress about utilization of funds, held at Chief Minister House.
The meeting was attended among others by Minister Finance Syed Murad Ali Shah, Chief Secretary Sindh Raja Muhammad Abbas, Principal Secretary to C.M Sindh Muhammad Siddique Memon, ACS (P and D) Mr. Israr Malik, ACS (Finance) Mr. Arif Ahmed Khan, Special Secretary (P and D) Dr. Noorul Haq and others officers of P and D and Finance department.
Chief Minister Sindh directed the P and D, Finance and executing departments to concentrate on completion of maximum development schemes in the province so as to provide basic facilities to poor and needy people. He further directed to pay attention of overall schemes in health, education, irrigation, roads, agriculture, coal etc sectors and maximum on-going schemes be completed in the larger interest of province.
The meeting was informed that the total ADP allocation for the year 2012-13 is Rs: 181.00 billion; out of which an amount of Rs: 53.65 billion was released during two quarters (i-e up to December 2012) while so far Rs: 21.53 billion have been spent.
The meeting reviewed the progress of Education; health; transport and communication, Irrigation; coal and energy and other departments. The meeting also reviewed MPA’s priority programme, schemes under special packages and special projects; while the progress of industries, culture, sports, agriculture, food, livestock and fisheries departments together with special initiatives (Water Hubs), I.T and youth affairs, forest, wildlife etc was also discussed.
It was informed that 51- BHU’s are being completed, out of which there will be 39 BHU’s will have trauma centres. It was further decided that separate meetings of provincial secretaries and Project Directors will be held on tomorrow (January 17, 2013). He also directed to provide funds for schemes pertaining to village electrification and supply of gas in the province.
