Karachi, March 05, 2019 (PPI-OT): Advisor to Chief Minister Sindh for Information, Law and Anticorruption Barrister Murtaza Wahab has demanded the federal government to release Rs. 116 Billion share of Sindh due till March in National Finance Commission and added that cut in Sindh’s constitutional right had badly affected the development agenda of Sindh government. Talking to media persons at Sindh Assembly’s media corner, the Provincial Advisor said that federal government of PTI had been creating impediments in the development of Sindh adding that few months back when he drawn attention of federal government to wards this injustice met out with Sindh province, then it stood Rs. 80 billion.
The federal government paid no attention on the issue, he said and added that the shortfall in federal transfers reached to Rs. 116 billion in March 2019. Questioning the policies of federal government of PTI, the Advisor Information added that how can Sindh government be able to resolve the problems facing people in the province. He once again demanded federal government to transfer the funds of Sindh government at the immediate so that masses could be provided relief.
He said that no progress had been made uptill now by the federal government on the NICVD issue following the orders passed by superior judiciary as it cost Rs. 22 billion to federal government. He said that there is reports of shortage of medicine and facilities in NICVD. He said that Sindh government had managed cardio institution successfully and not only people of Sindh but residents of whole country benefited from NICVD free of cost treatment facility. He demanded federal government let the Sindh government run this institute.
The Advisor while criticising the policies of the Federal government, said that PTI government has no policy to pull out common man from crises. He said that an other unpleasant news has been circulating that federal government has increased the gas, oil and electricity prices that showed that PTI government has no economic policy to provide relief to poor people of the country and pull out country the challenges it was facing.
He demanded of Prime Minister Imran Khan to take immediate notice of price hike and reverse the decision of increase in oil, gas and electricity prices so to decrease the miseries of poor people of country who were already bearing the burden of inflation. He said he was fighting a case of Sindh regarding federal transfers under NFC through media for last few months. ‘It was Rs. 80 billion shortfall when I first demanded from federal government’, he said and added that they repeatedly requested for transfers of funds but our request was not responded.
