Protest against Food Security Act in IOK

Srinagar, March 20, 2016 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the residents of Boatmen Colony, Bemina, have staged a protest march against implementation of Food Security Act (NFSA) in the territory. The protesters blocked Srinagar-Baramulla Highway and were demanding rollback of the food law.

The protesters blocked highway for half an hour thereby disrupting the vehicular movement in the area. They were chanting slogans like “We Want Justice”. Meanwhile, inhabitants of Gow Kadal staged a protest against Food Security Act and were demanding its rollback. The inhabitants blocked the main road of the area leading to the commercial hub Lal Chowk and were chanting slogans against administration.
