Islamabad: Adviser to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs, Rana Sanaullah Khan, has declared that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is set to form the government in Azad Jammu and Kashmir with approximately a two-thirds majority. This announcement was made during a news conference in Islamabad, where he was accompanied by the Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan, Amir Muqam.

According to Radio Pakistan, Rana Sanaullah Khan emphasized that the recent elections in Azad Jammu and Kashmir were conducted in a free, fair, and transparent manner. He noted that attempts to disrupt the electoral process were unsuccessful, and he called on those participating in a sit-in in Rawalakot to end their protest, asserting that the people of Azad Kashmir have expressed their will through the ballot.

Rana Sanaullah Khan further stated that the new government will address the issues faced by Azad Jammu and Kashmir using democratic methods. He also warned that legal actions would be taken against those who resorted to violence and acted against national interests.

In addition, Amir Muqam thanked the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir for their trust in the PML-N. He highlighted the high voter turnout and reassured that the party would fulfill the commitments made during the election campaign.
