PM Emphasizes Strong Pakistan-UK Partnership Amid Diplomatic Talks

Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to maintaining a robust and forward-looking engagement with the United Kingdom as a longstanding strategic partner. He expressed this commitment during a meeting with UK National Security Adviser Jonathan Powell, who visited him in Islamabad.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister recalled his recent telephonic conversation with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, during which both leaders expressed a shared desire to further strengthen the ties between Pakistan and the UK. Prime Minister Sharif also extended his best wishes to the British Prime Minister.

The British National Security Adviser conveyed the UK Government's appreciation for Pakistan's constructive role in regional diplomacy, highlighting its efforts to facilitate dialogue and de-escalation in the broader region. He also emphasized the British Government's strong interest in expanding bilateral cooperation across the sectors of security, trade, investment, and development.

The meeting was attended by notable Pakistani officials, including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi, and Foreign Secretary Ambassador Amna Baloch.
