Plan to grant PRC to non-Kashmiris in IHK opposed

London, January 09, 2013 (PPI-OT): The Executive Director of Kashmir Centre London, Professor Nazir Ahmed Shawl has expressed serious concern over the statement of puppet minister, Raman Balla that Permanent Resident Certificates (PRC) will be granted to non-Kashmiri refugees in occupied Kashmir.

Professor Nazir Ahmed Shawl in a statement issued in London asked the international community to take notice of the matter as it expressed the designs of the Indian government to change the demographic status of the territory.

He said that giving permanent resident certificates to non-Kashmiri refugees in the territory was in contravention to the Act of 1927 and also to the distinct status of Kashmir. The people of Jammu and Kashmir will resist such a deliberate alteration, which is unethical, immoral and unjustified.

He also strongly condemned the arrest of Hurriyet leaders and on restrictions on their political activities. He appealed to the world peace-loving people to take notice of Kashmir situation and compel India to take positive steps for the resolution of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the aspirations of the Kashmiris.
