Lahore, October 24, 2017 (PPI-OT): With the progress of the “Belt and Road” initiative, practical Chinese education is increasingly becoming an “inelastic demand” for both China and its partners. It was stated by Mr. S.M. Naveed, president PCJCCI on the MOU signing ceremony held in China between CCPIT Guangdong and Pak China Joint Chamber of Commerce for International Practical Chinese Language Training Program with reference to the Participating Countries in the Belt and Road Initiative.
Mr. S.M. Naveed represented Pakistan at the forum where more than 40 countries have signed cooperative agreements with China. The MOU signing ceremony was organized during the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road International Expo.
The idea of belt and road initiative is now embraced by more than 100 nations and international organizations who found that there is dire need of practical and vocational Chinese education in countries along the “Belt and Road.” S.M Naveed emphasized the urgent need for local talents in those countries and regions that are directly attached with CPEC and B and R initiative. He said that the lack of Chinese language equipped talents is hindering the overseas expansion of Chinese companies and JV’s. With a big gap between supply and demand, bilingual talents become a scarce resource, and practical Chinese training programs become an inelastic demand and social trend, said S.M. Naveed.
CCPIT Guangdong earlier conducted a research to find the need of Chinese equipped talent for which the team visited the overseas branches of ICBC, PCJCCI, Haier Group, Huajian Group, Midea Group, CCCC Fourth Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd., Guangdong Construction Engineering Group and Guangzhou Port Co., Ltd. to get first-hand information on the market demand for this project.
In 21st Century Maritime Silk Road International Expo, representatives from consulates and business councils of the “Belt and Road” countries spoke about their urgent demand for local Chinese language talents and earnestly enrolled for a pilot course.
Mr. Naveed further told about the PCJCCI Chinese language program already initiated in Pakistan with the collaboration of TEVTA. He also told about the PCJCCI Chinese language publications including dictionary and Book that are published for the ease of people learning Chinese language. PCJCCI with the collaboration of Confucius institute proficiently conducts HSK examination and around 2500 student till date has cleared different levels of HSK from the platform of PCJCCI, told S.M. Naveed. The participants of the ceremony highly appreciated the endeavours of PCJCCI for Chinese language and everyone expressed eagerness to work with the same spirit.
According to the MOU, Chambers and associations will promote the all-around cooperation among countries and regions alongside the Maritime Silk Road in areas such as infrastructure construction, industrial cooperation and communication and international trade. The signatories of this MOU included; Fiji Chamber of Commerce, India-China Economic, Indonesian Chamber of Commerce, Amman Chamber of Industry, Association of Kazakhstan Entrepreneurs, Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Malaysia Promas International Business Society, Nepal-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Pakistan-China joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Papua New Guinea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Cape Chamber of Commerce and Thai-Chinese Economy Association and Yemen Community in Guangdong.
It was observed that the International Practical Chinese Language Training Program for the Participating Countries in the B and R Initiative will expediently expand cooperation, enhance long-term and stable economic and trade development, and achieve a win-win situation.
