Bannu: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff, visited Bannu to engage in a high-level meeting centered on counter-terrorism strategies. They also paid their respects at the funeral of twelve martyrs from the South Waziristan operation.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister declared that Pakistan's fight against terrorism will be relentless, with no tolerance for ambiguity or compromise. He accused terrorist leaders and their facilitators of launching attacks on Pakistan from Afghan soil, allegedly with India's support. Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that the Afghan Interim Government has been given a clear ultimatum to decide whether to support the Khawarij or align with Pakistan.

The Prime Minister pointed out the role of infiltrated Afghan nationals in terrorist activities and called for the urgent repatriation of illegal Afghan residents in Pakistan. He condemned the politicization of terrorism issues and warned against those facilitating or endorsing the Khawarij, or acting as India's proxies, labeling them as agents who will face consequences.

Shehbaz Sharif applauded the unity and resilience of the Pakistani nation, particularly the citizens of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, for their steadfast support of the state and armed forces in the face of Indian proxies. He assured that the government is committed to executing all necessary administrative and legal measures to enhance the effectiveness of the counter-terrorism response.

During their visit, the Prime Minister and the Field Marshal also visited the injured at Bannu CMH. The Corps Commander of Peshawar provided a comprehensive briefing on the security situation in the region. Upon arrival at Bannu Cantonment, the Chief of Army Staff formally welcomed the Prime Minister.
