Pakistan Kidney and Liver Transplant Institute will be a milestone: Shahbaz Sharif

Lahore, April 11, 2016 (PPI-OT):Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif presided over a high level meeting here today which reviewed progress on Pakistan Kidney and Liver Transplant Institute and Research Centre project. The Chief Minister while speaking on the occasion, said that the project of Pakistan Kidney and Liver Transplant Institute is a milestone in the provision of quality health facilities to the masses.

He said that this institute will be state-of-the-art with regard to modern treatment of kidney and liver diseases and free medical facilities will be available to poor, destitute and deserving patients. He said that Pakistan Kidney and Liver Transplant Institute and Research Centre will be a masterpiece of medical science, clinical research and provision of treatment facilities and will be at par with the standard of the best institutes of its kind in the world.

The Chief Minister said that the latest medical facilities will be available to kidney and liver patients under one-roof in the institute. He said that under-graduate and post-graduate facilities of medical education will also be available at the institute for doctors, nurses and paramedics. He directed that the project should be executed with a national spirit and concerned provincial and federal institutions should work on the project expeditiously.

The Chief Minister said that government is utilizing maximum resources for the provision of quality healthcare to the poor. He said that kidney and liver transplant facility will also be available with the completion of the project. He said that Pakistan Kidney and Liver Transplant Institute and Research Centre project will be a splendid addition to public health facilities and this project will also be a masterpiece of standard and transparency like other projects of Punjab government.

Salman Rafiq, Chairman Board of Governors Pakistan Kidney and Liver Transplant Institute Dr. Saeed Akhtar, Chairman Planning and Development, Secretaries of Law, Communication and Works, Specialized Health and Medical Education, Housing, Commissioner Lahore Division, Chief Executive Officer Infrastructure Development Authority, MD NESPAK, MD Sui Gas, Chief Executive Officer LESCO and concerned officers attended the meeting.
