Pakistan and Japan to strengthen bilateral Cooperation

Islamabad, October 24, 2012 (PPI-OT): Five rounds of Pakistan – Japan Security Dialogue held so far have been greatly helpful in broadening areas of bilateral cooperation in the field of defence. This is stated during the Japanese Ambassador to Pakistan H. E. Hiroshi OE’s meeting with Defence Minister Syed Naveed Qamar here in Islamabad today.

During the call on the two sides expressed satisfaction over the growing bilateral relations and expanding areas of military cooperation. In this regard, the exchange of high level delegations in previous years has proven to be greatly fruitful. The exchanges not only opened new avenues but paved way for future cooperation.

Defence Minister Syed Naveed Qamar reiterated to the Japanese Ambassador Pakistan’s role in fight against terror and sacrifices made in this regard. The minister stressed that Pakistan is a mature member of the international community. We fully adhere to challenges faced by Pakistan and will continue to strategize as a responsible nation.

The minister thanked the Japanese Government for extending highest level of cooperation in all areas of bilateral cooperation including defence.
