Central kurram: At least nineteen terrorists, belonging to two rival groups of Fitna-al-Khawarij, were killed in an armed clash in Central Kurram over an extortion dispute.
According to Radio Pakistan, a heavy exchange of fire took place last night between Kazim Group and the Mumtaz Imti Group in Manato area within the jurisdiction of Chinarak Police Station in Central Kurram. Eighteen terrorists belonging to Mumtaz Imti group were killed, while three others were reported missing. One terrorist from the Kazim group was also killed, while another was reported missing.
It is pertinent to mention that armed clashes between different factions of Fitna-al-Khawarij have occurred on several occasions in the past as well. These clashes are clear evidence that these elements are not pursuing any religious or ideological cause, but are instead engaged in violence and unrest to serve their personal interests.
According to local residents, the internal fighting among various groups of Khawarij is severely affecting the lives of ordinary citizens in the area. Experts say the people of the region have full confidence in the actions being taken by state institutions against terrorist elements. They said these terrorists are not only enemies of the state, but are also willing to shed each other's blood in the struggle for power, money, and influence.
