Karachi: The National Emergency Operation Center of NDMA has predicted moderate to heavy rainfall in parts of Sindh, Balochistan, and Punjab over the next 12 to 24 hours.
According to Radio Pakistan, widespread heavy rainfall and thunderstorms are expected in southern parts of the Sindh province including Thatta, Badin, Tharparkar, Mithi, Umerkot, Mirpur Khas, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Adam, Hyderabad, Karachi, and surrounding areas.
Under the influence of the current weather system active over the northeastern and southern parts of Punjab, isolated rainfall is expected in Gujranwala, Sialkot, Lahore, Hafizabad, Faisalabad, Chiniot, Sargodha and surrounding areas.
Moderate to heavy rainfall and thunderstorms are expected in southern parts including Multan, Layyah, Khanewal, Vehari, Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, Muzaffargarh, Dera Ghazi Khan, Khanpur, Rajanpur, Liaqat Pur, Zahirpir, Rahim Yar Khan, Sadiqabad and surrounding areas.
Isolated heavy falls during this time period may activate hill torrents. The intense rainfall events can exceed the capacity of urban drainage systems and can also severely disrupt vehicular movement and public transportation.
An active weather system is currently affecting various parts of Balochistan and may cause isolated rainfall and thunderstorms in Zhob, Barkhan, Loralai, Sibi, Dera Bugti, Sui, Khuzdar, Awaran, Lasbela and surrounding areas.
