Islamabad, November 13, 2012 (PPI-OT): Dr. Fehmida Mirza, speaker National Assembly has greeted Hindu Members of the National Assembly and the Hindu community on Diwali being celebrated today.
Dr. Fehmida Mirza said that she was delighted to send her warmest greetings to Hindu MNAs and everyone in Hindu community on the auspicious occasion of Diwali. She said that Diwali was such a wonderful inclusive festival, which reaches beyond your communities to people of many backgrounds all over the world. The symbolic illuminations on the occasion represent life and hope and send a powerful message of unity and peace to all of us.
In her message, the Speaker also recognized the “huge contributions made by Pakistani Hindu community to the prosperity of the country” as something “we can all be immensely proud of”. She said that their involvement in every sphere of our national life was extremely commendable. “Once again, my very best wishes are for joyous occasion, Happy Diwali”, she wished.
Mr. Faisal Karim Kundi, Deputy Speaker National Assembly also conveyed his sincere and warm greetings on Diwali to his fellow Hindu Members of the National Assembly. He also appreciated their contribution in national development, fostering national unity and cohesion.
