Karachi: KMC Municipal Commissioner Matanat Ali Khan after assuming his charge on Thursday said special attention was being given to cleaning of drains, repairing and construction of roads and solid waste management in the city.
He was on a visit to University Road and other areas of the city with Director General Technical Services Altaf G. Memon, Senior Director Health Services, Municipal Commissioner District East Shafiq-ur-Rehman and other officers.
During the visit Municipal Commissioner Matanat Ali Khan directed concerned officials to ensure cleanliness on all major corridors and prompt shifting of garbage to landfill sites. He also issued directives for more greenery and removal of wall chalking on major roads. He said Karachi is an international city and it was our duty to keep it clean and green.
We can improve the image of our city by keeping it clean and germs free. MC Matanat Ali Khan said development works on large scale were started in the city in the leadership of Administrator KMC Muhammad Hussain Syed. Repairing and construction of roads under way in different areas and work on more underpasses and flyovers was being initiated.
He said that he will pay frequent visit to different areas of city and check the pace of development works and sanitation conditions. If any negligence was found in these works, the officer concerned will have to face the disciplinary action.
