Lawmakers Condemn Incident of Honour Killing in Balochistan

Islamabad: Lawmakers in the Senate have strongly condemned the tragic incident of honour killing in Balochistan, where a man and a woman were brutally shot dead. Taking the floor of the Senate, they described the act as barbaric and inhumane, emphasizing that no civilized society can tolerate such inhumanity. They demanded strict action against the culprits and insisted that they should be brought to justice.

According to Radio Pakistan, those who spoke on the occasion included Sherry Rehman, Khalida Ateeb, Aimal Wali Khan, Irfan-ul-Haque Siddiqui, Ali Zafar, and Samina Mumtaz Zehri. Meanwhile, the House also unanimously passed a resolution recommending the Government take immediate and concrete steps to curb the spread of drugs in educational institutions.

The resolution, moved by Mohsin Aziz and others, also urged the Government to coordinate with the Provincial Governments and formulate a comprehensive national strategy to eliminate the usage of drugs from academic institutions. The House will now meet on Thursday at five p.m.
