Kashmiri detainees’ plight in jails worries DFP

Srinagar, June 01, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) has expressed serious concern over the plight of illegally detained Hurriyat leaders and activists particularly those languishing in New Delhi’s infamous Tihar Jail.

A DFP spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said the Kashmiri martyrs are sacrificing their precious lives for a great cause so everyone must take care of their families and visit their houses to exhibit solidarity with their families.

He said those who have been languishing in Tihar Jail including DFP Chairman, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, are facing lot of hardships in the prison. “We should pray for the safety of Shabbir Shah, who is suffering from various serious ailments,” he added.

Other Kashmiri political prisoners lodged in the same jail are Muhammad Yasin Malik, Aasiya Andrabi, Altaf Ahmed Shah, Peer Saifullah, Ayaz Akbar, Raja Meraj-ud-Din Kalwal, Nayeem Ahmed Khan, Shahid-ul-Islam, Farooq Ahmed Dar, Shahid Yousaf, Syed Shakeel Ahmed, Fehmeeda Sofi, Naheeda Nasreen and businessman, Zahoor Ahmad Watali.
