Srinagar, January 22, 2016 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, APHC leader and the Chairman of Jammu Kashmir Peoples League (JKPL), Mukhtar Ahmad Waza has said that peace in region is not possible without settlement of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the Kashmiris’ aspirations. Mukhtar Ahmad Waza addressing a gathering in Yaripora area of Kulgam said that the dispute could be resolved only when the Kashmiris were made a party to the dialogue process as the issue was the matter of their right to self-determination.
Expressing satisfaction over the realization of the international community that the Kashmir dispute needs to be settled without any further delay and only way for emancipation is to give the Kashmiri people the opportunity to decide their political future by themselves.
Condemning fresh arrest spree launched by Indian forces in ahead of January 26, the Republic Day of India, Mukhtar Ahmed Waza said that the youth were being subjected to brute force for their freedom sentiment. He urged people to observe complete shutdown on January 26 to apprise the international community that Kashmiris were striving for the peaceful resolution of Kashmir dispute.
He also prayed for the early recovery of those Pulwama youth injured due to Indian troops’ firing on peaceful protesters in Pulwama. He urged the international human rights groups to take cognizance of the prevailing human rights situation in the territory.
