Karachi, December 24, 2012 (PPI-OT): KMC Administrator Muhammad Hussain Syed has said that the up gradation and development works six maternity homes and dispensaries of Lyari had been completed with a cost of Rs20million whereas renovation and repairing works of eight schools underway which will complete by March with a cost of Rs40million. He said this while addressing a meeting to review the development works of Lyari Town schools, dispensaries and maternity homes.
The meeting was attended by Chief Officer Matanat Ali Khan, Sr. Director Medical Services Dr. A.D Sajnani, Sr. Director Education Afaq Mirza and other officers. Administrator Karachi said that those maternity homes and dispensaries where uplifting works were completed include Miran Peer maternity home, Shah maternity home, Ghazi Abdul Qayyum maternity, Behar Colony maternity home, Lyari maternity and women and child welfare center Kalri whereas development work of Pakistan Hall Dispensary going on speedily.
He said that renovation and repair works of four school building in Lyari has been completed which include school no. 13, 14, Bismillah Colony, Baghdadi, School no. 15 Sweeper Colony, Slaughter House, school no. 24,25 Phool Patti, Kalri and school no. 26,27 Miran Naka near fire brigade station whereas uplifting works in KMC school no. 2,3,4,17, school no. 20,21,22 and school no. 32,33,34 underway and would complete soon.
Administrator Karachi said besides upgrading schools and renovation of dispensaries and maternity homes in Lyari the requirements of doctors and paramedical staff was also being fulfilled. He said that a school in Lyari has been made a model school like other towns of city.
Administrator Karachi said that if needed the doctors and paramedical staff in Lyari Town dispensaries and maternity homes will be appointed on contract basis. He said that fumigation work will also be performed at all the schools of Lyari Town.
