Karachi: Administrator Karachi Metropolitan Corporation Muhammad Hussain Syed said that with the completion of repair and carpeting work, Shaheed-e-Millat Road was now opened for vehicular traffic. Storm water circular drain around two sword roundabout at Clifton had been installed under new technology and the road carpeting was also completed.
This he said on a visit of development works in different areas of the city. He was accompanied by D.G Technical Altaf G. Memon, Senior Director Health Services Dr. Shoukat Zaman, Chief Engineer East Mehmood Hussain Baloch and other officers. Administrator Karachi said that the citizen would get considerable relief with the completion of repairing and carpeting of Shaheed-e-Millat Road as this corridor often had traffic pressure and problem of accumulation of rain water.
He said that this road has been constructed while sticking to international standards due to its importance and the pressure of traffic on it. Administrator Muhammad Hussain Syede said that the lying of storm water circular drain and road carpeting around two sword roundabout in Clifton was already completed and this drain was linked with the Nehr-e-Khayam for swift drainage of water.
He said that Governor of Sindh Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan was paying special attention to the development and progress of city and he had personally inspected the work of circular drain and expressed satisfaction over the quality and pace of work.
Administrator Karachi said that special attention was being given to the cleanliness, repairing and construction of roads and solid waste management including de-silting of all drains. Mechanical sweeping was being done on 7 major roads of city and the garbage and waste was shifted to the landfill sites so that the citizens could avail maximum facilities.
