Srinagar, January 07, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front conducted the second phase of its Court Arrest Campaign, today, to seek the revoking of life imprisonment awarded to Kashmiri youth. Twenty-two people including the JKLF leaders, Bashmir Ahmad Butt and Showkat Ahmed Bakhshi, along with Front activists, family members of detainees and relatives of martyrs courted their arrest at Batalamoo in Srinagar in a precession. People on the occasion shouted high-pitched pro-freedom slogans.
On the other hand, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference has reiterated that the Kashmir dispute could be resolves through tripartite talks involving Pakistan, India and the Kashmiris. The APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the Kashmiri people and Hurriyet leaders had nourished the ongoing liberation movement with their blood and their sacrifices would not be allowed to go waste.
Hurriyet leader, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, led the funeral prayers in absentia of former Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, Qazi Hussain Ahmad, at Barzulla Eidgah, and APHC leader, Zafar Akbar Butt at the APHC headquarters in Srinagar.
Hurriyet leaders including Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Musaddiq Aadil, Muhammad Yousuf Naqash, Firdous Ahmad Shah, Hakeem Abdur Rasheed, Abdul Ahad Para, and Muhammad Maqbool Sufi besides a large number of people belonging to various walks of life participated in the funeral prayers.
Senior APHC leader, Bilal Ghani Lone and other Hurriyet leaders including Yasmeen Raja and Javed Ahmad Mir in their separate statements paying rich tributes to Qazi Hussain Ahmad said that he was a great supporter of the Kashmiris’ liberation movement.
The Jamaat-e-Islami of occupied Kashmir, Jammu and Kashmir Freedom Movement and the All Parties Hurriyet Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir chapter in their meetings eulogised the services of the deceased for the Kashmir cause. An Amritsar-based Sikh organisation, Dal Khalsa, in its statement said that the Sikhs were deprived of a great friend with the death of Qazi Hussain Ahmad.
