Iran Values Pakistan’s Support During Mediation Process: Masoud

Islamabad: Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian has expressed profound gratitude to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for their pivotal role in facilitating the mediation process with exceptional skill and sincerity. This was conveyed during a telephone conversation with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, marking their first interaction since the historic signing of the Islamabad Peace Deal.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Iranian President acknowledged the positive and constructive efforts of Pakistan, emphasizing the importance of its support for Tehran during challenging times. Dr. Pezeshkian conveyed his best wishes to the people of Pakistan and expressed Iran's eagerness to enhance and expand bilateral ties across various areas of mutual interest.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated President Pezeshkian, the Iranian leadership, and the people of Iran on the signing of the historic peace agreement. He highlighted the significance of the deal in restoring regional peace, contributing to Iran's reconstruction, and strengthening Pakistan-Iran relations in all spheres of mutual interest.

Additionally, the Prime Minister extended his respectful regards to Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Sayyid Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei. He praised Iran's decision to sign the peace deal and wished them success in the subsequent phase of negotiations, assuring continued support from Pakistan as a neighboring and brotherly nation.

Both leaders agreed to visit each other's capitals at the earliest opportunity to further enhance bilateral cooperation and collaborate on regional issues. They also committed to maintaining close contact in the coming days.
