Awais Directs DISCOs for Uninterrupted Power Supply During Muharram

Islamabad: Minister for Power Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari has issued directives to power distribution companies (DISCOs) to ensure an uninterrupted supply of electricity during Muharram-ul-Haram, with a particular emphasis on the 9th and 10th of Muharram.

According to Radio Pakistan, the minister emphasized the importance of maintaining a continuous power supply on the routes of Majalis and processions, highlighting that no negligence will be tolerated. He has instructed all power distribution companies to remain on high alert to facilitate this.

The minister has mandated that all transformers on the feeders of Imambargahs and Majalis be repaired by the 7th of Muharram. Additionally, he has called for the establishment of main Control Rooms to ensure uninterrupted power supply and instructed that additional transformers, vehicles, and other necessary equipment be prepared at each Sub-division nationwide to address any emergencies promptly.

Sardar Awais Leghari also stressed the importance of DISCOs maintaining close contact with district administrations and police to ensure seamless coordination during the period.
