Srinagar, November 14, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops, in their fresh acts of state terrorism, martyred four Kashmiris including a girl, today.
The troops killed two youth and destroyed four residential houses with heavy mortar shelling during a siege and search operation at Chanigam in Frisal area of Kulgam district. People staged forceful demonstrations in the area against the killings.
A 10th class student was martyred and several other people were injured when the troops opened fire on demonstrators. Complete shutdown was observed in Bijbehara against these killings. An Indian Army vehicle deliberately hit and killed a young girl at Langate in Handwara. The incident triggered massive anti-India demonstrations in the area.
Illegally detained senior Hurriyet leader, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, in a message from jail and other leaders and organizations including Mukhtar Ahmed Waza, Javed Ahmed Mir, Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement and Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Political Movement, in their statements strongly denounced the killing of innocent people in Kulgam.
Meanwhile, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, in their statements issued in Srinagar termed the Indian Army court’s decision of awarding life sentence to the troops involved in Machil fake encounter as Bharatiya Janata Party’s ploy to show its soft face ahead of the so-called Assembly elections in the territory. They demanded reopening of all the cases of human rights violations by Indian troops in occupied Kashmir.
Hurriyet leaders, Yasmeen Raja, Zamruda Habib, Farida Behenji and Abdul Ahad Para in their addresses and statements urged the Kashmiri people to totally boycott the forthcoming sham polls in the occupied territory. On the other hand, one person was killed and another injured in a grenade blast in Handwara.
