India forced Kashmiri youth to pick up stones: Dal Khalsa

Srinagar, August 11, 2016 (PPI-OT):Amritsar-based Sikh organization Dal Khalsa while strongly reacting to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement on Kashmir has said that Modi’s assertions are nothing but an attempt to mislead the international community on Kashmir dispute.

Dal Khalsa head Harpal Singh Cheema, in a statement referring to the statement of Narendra Modi asked him to explain as to who was responsible for compelling the Kashmiri youth to pick up the stones instead of laptops and books.

He termed the statement nothing but playing to the gallery besides misleading international community. He further said, “It is India that has crushed the dreams of Kashmiri people, snatched laptops from hands of its young generation and forced them to pick up stones in their fight for rights, land and dignity.”

Cheema added that the successive governments in India and its stooges in occupied Kashmir had worsened the situation either by deceit or brute force. He said words Insaniyat (humanity) and Jamhooriyat (democracy) sound good but have hollow meaning when spoken by Indian leaders as they have a record of deceit and betrayal.

The Sikh leader said it is ironic that the Prime Minister took more than one month to break his silence after over 70 deaths, 7000 injuries. Dal Khalsa is a political organization of the Sikhs, based in the city of Amritsar, Punjab. The primary aim of Dal Khalsa is to achieve the independence of the North West India in order to establish a sovereign Sikh state, Khalistan.
