Karachi: “Indo- Pak citizens held in both countries as prisoners are in such critical condition that they need full attention purely on humanitarian grounds, before they came to end their lives being prisoners,” said Haq Nawaz Akhter, Chairman and Haider Ali Haider, General Secretary, Saiban International Welfare Organization, in their combined statement.
They requested both countries Prime Ministers to take immediate steps for releasing the Pakistani citizen Prof. Khalil Chishti from Indian prison and Indian citizens Yusuf Sadiq and Samat bhai in Pakistan prison. They said that about 520 Indian fishermen are in District Malir Jail, out of which cases of 261 Indian prisoners are under hearing in courts and 259 have completed their chastisement and their papers were also been checked and verified whereas , but only due to inactiveness of both governments they were still in prison.
They request Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani to ask the actual list of Pakistani Prisoners from Indian government as we don’t have actual figures of Pakistani Prisoners in Indian prison, for which a number of families are in great agony, they said that releasing of both innoxious prisoners will promote the actual peace between the two countries.
