Srinagar, December 30, 2012 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Muhammad Yasin Malik, has paid rich tributes to prominent Kashmiri scholar, Professor Abdul Ahad Wani, on the eve of his martyrdom anniversary.
Addressing a seminar “Kashmiri detainees and our responsibilities” organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front in Srinagar, Muhammad Yasin Malik said that Professor Abdul Ahad Wani had played an important role in highlighting the Kashmir dispute at political and diplomatic level.
He reiterated the Kashmiris’ pledge to continue the martyrs’ mission till its logical conclusion, adding that for the purpose every kind of sacrifice would be offered. Muhammad Yasin Malik on the occasion announced to launch the campaign of court arrest from Friday.
Other speakers in their addresses said that India was using every tactic to suppress the ongoing movement but it would never succeed in its nefarious designs. They said that the day was not far away when the people of Kashmir would get rid of Indian bondage. The speakers also expressed serious concern over the custodial disappearances in the territory and demanded of the authorities to inform the families of the victims about their whereabouts.
The speakers included Aasiya Andrabi, Javed Ahmad Mir, Bashir Ahmad Butt, advocate Zahid Ali, Dr Altaf, Z G Muhammad, advocate Nazir Ahmad Ronga, Bilal Siddiqui, Maulana Khurshid Ahmad Qanoongo, Professor Bilal, Dr Ashiq Hussain, Perveena Ahangar, Zareef Ahmad Zareef, Bashir Ahmad Kanth, Muhammad Iqbal and Sikh leader, Jagmohan. The representatives of Kashmir trade unions also participated in the seminar.
