Srinagar, August 02, 2015 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, the forum led by the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani outright rejecting the Indian plans to permanently settle the retired army personnel or their children in the territory, has said that Jammu and Kashmir is an internationally-recognised disputed territory and the decision for its future is still pending.
“Settling or allotting of land to any army personal or any citizen of India is the clear violation of the international rules which has no constitutional or moral justification,” a spokesman for the forum said in a statement in Srinagar. Jammu and Kashmir is not a part of India, the spokesman said, adding that issuing citizenship rights of the territory to any Indian national was totally against the territory’s constitution and the Indian government was not authorized to amend it.
He said that the forum in an important meeting of its advisory council on this serious last had cautioned India to refrain from acting upon the move and “if any land is allotted to any army personnel in Kashmir, an agitation movement will be launched against it.”
Terming the attitude of the Mufti regime on this issue as ambiguous and suspicious, the spokesman said, “Indian Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar had said that he had sent directions to the puppet administration in Srinagar on 16th July for taking appropriate action in the allotment of the land to the former Indian army personnel.” The spokesman said, “The Mufti should clear the stand on this sensitive issue before the general public.”
“Besides the entire Hurriyet leadership, the forum has decided to consult law experts and people related to every walk of life and have agreed to mobilize public consensus in this regard,” he added. He also appealed to the world bodies to play their role in stopping India from such dangerous activities.
