Denmark’s envoy pays farewell call on President

Islamabad, July 26, 2012 (PPI-OT): Mr. Uffe Wolffhechel, Ambassador of Denmark, today paid farewell call on President Asif Ali Zardari at Aiwan-e-Sadr.

The President appreciated his diplomatic services in brining Pakistan and Denmark further closer during his stint as Ambassador.

Discussing bilateral relations with the outgoing Ambassador, the President said that Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with Denmark and wishes to build a broad-based substantive and long-term equation with Denmark.

He said that Pakistan greatly appreciates Danish support to democracy and to the people of Pakistan. The President said that there was need to further promote mutual interactions at all the levels in order to further strengthen the existing friendly relationship. He said that the two countries needed to work together in translating their friendly equation to boost trade and economic interactions.

The President wished the outgoing ambassador good luck in his future life and assignments.

Mr. Uffe Wolffhechel thanked the President for the support he was extended by the Government during his tenure as ambassador.
