Islamabad, November 13, 2012 (PPI-OT): A delegation of Ministry of Industries and Trade of Czech Republic led by Dr. Pavel Kavina, along with H.E. Miroslav Krenek, Ambassador of Czech Republic called on Dr. Asim Hussain, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Petroleum and Natural Resources and discussed with him certain vistas of opportunities and mutual cooperation in Mineral Sector.
Advisor to the PM on Ministry of Petroleum and NR appreciated the keen interest evinced by the Ministry of Industries and Trade of Czech Republic in the development of Mineral Sector of Pakistan. Minister also lauded that Czech Republic has established a very advanced mineral sector and Pakistan can benefit immensely from their expertise and experience.
The delegation of Ministry of Industries and Trade of Czech Republic led by Dr. Pavel Kavina, is currently on a visit to Pakistan. The delegation earlier have held extensive discussions with Secretary, MP and NR and Director General, Geological Survey of Pakistan. Following areas of mutual cooperation have been identified where the Czech delegation has assured providing Pakistan all possible cooperation and assistance.
1. Capacity building of the geoscientists of the Geological Survey of Pakistan in exploration of Rare Earth Elements (REE).
2. Preparation of the training module for Applied Exploration in Geological Sciences for Human Resources Development Centre of the Geological Survey of Pakistan in collaboration with the European Universities.
3. Evaluation of the Geothermal Energy in Pakistan and its potential to fill the gap in Energy Demand and Supply.
Mr. Naeem Malik, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum and NR and Dr. Imran Khan, Director General, Geological Survey of Pakistan were also present during the meeting with Czech Republic delegation.
