Concern expressed over detainees’ plight in jails

Srinagar, January 19, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement (JKSM), Zafar Akbar Butt, has expressed serious concern over the plight of the illegally detained Hurriyat leaders and activists lodged in different jails of India and the territory. Zafar Akbar Butt in a statement issued in Srinagar said the Kashmiri political prisoners are deprived of their basic facilities including medical care which is a matter of concern. He demanded immediate release of all illegally detained Hurriyat leaders and activists.

Meanwhile, Hurriyat leader and the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Employees Movement, Muhammad Shafi Lone, in a statement in Srinagar praised Pakistan Prime Minister, Imran Khan, and Foreign Minister, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, for raising the Kashmir dispute at the international level. He said Pakistan is a staunch supporter of the Kashmir cause and hoped that it will continue its moral, political and diplomatic support to the Kashmiris’ just struggle for securing their right to self-determination.
