Bengal tiger expires in Karachi Zoo

Karachi, November 19, 2012 (PPI-OT): The 22 year’s old Bengal tiger in Karachi Zoo expired on Monday after a month long illness. The ailing tiger which could not survive third stroke attack received suffered from first stroke on 17th October 2012 after which a team of senior doctors assigned the work of providing medical treatment. This team of veterinary experts checked the tiger three to four times a day and it was given feed and medicines prescribed by the doctors.

A renowned senior veterinary expert from Islamabad Dr. Masood-ul-Ha was also consulted for the feeding and medical treatment of the ill tiger whereas Dr. Asma visited zoo and checked the tiger and prescribed the feed and medicines Under instructions from doctors, the tiger was given medicines with milk and fresh liver during which it suffered with the second stroke attack which affected the body of tiger.

On Monday, the tiger expired with third stroke and after completing its usual age which was 16 to 20 years in zoo. The Bengal tiger was inducted to Karachi Zoo in 2004 when it as 15 to 16 year old.
