Ban imposed on excavation of sand/gravel from Kalpani Nullah in Mardan

Peshawar: DCO Mardan has imposed ban on excavation of sand/gravel from Kalpani Nullah near Nawan Killi Bridge on Eastern Bypass in Mardan w.e.f. 23-4-2012. A notification issued Monday said the locals are undertaking unscrupulous excavation of sand/gravel from Kalpani Nullah near Nawan Killi Bridge on Eastern Bypass and thus weakening the foundations of the bridge and it is being apprehended that the structure may get weakened and will collapse. Therefore, it is imperative to put a stop to such activity, so as to save human lives and protect social life from disruption and to save the structure (public property) from damages.

This said order shall remain in force for a period of two months and any one violating the said order will be tried under section 188 PPC.
