Islamabad, July 16, 2013 (PPI-OT): Anti Narcotics Force, Pakistan in continuation of war against drugs intercepted a gigantic consignment of Hashish amounting to 3000 KGs being transported from Afghanistan and was destined to Belgium. ANF Pakistan in a mutual support with Belgium authorities launched a joint operation and managed to arrest 3 x foreigners and seized 3000 KGs Hashish.
Subsequent development of investigation against the drug traffickers involved in export of Hashish to Belgium surfaced Afghan linkages. Drugs were packed in cartons and further concealed in white towels as a cover load for export.
Belgium authorities while conducting the investigation on import of Hashish found the drug barons importing cocaine from South America as well through containerized load. Succeeding development resulted in interception of container with 1000 KGs cocaine. Investigation is still in progress for more arrests.
Joint operation was conducted by the mutual cooperation of Pakistan and Belgium authorities thus creating an impact on drug traffickers operating around the world. Total worth of Hashish and cocaine seized in operation amounts in 30 and 46.5 Million US Dollars respectively. Efforts of both the countries are quite commendable and encouraging to fight against this menace. This cooperation will go a long way in nabbing the traffickers.
