Share Extra Food With Poors: Shehbaz Sharif Message on World Food Day

Lahore, October 15, 2017 (PPI-OT): Chief Minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif said in his message on World Food Day that it is imperative to generate awareness in the public regarding the need to increase food resources and prevention of food wastage. In order to ensure food security, it is necessary that government, research and financial institutions, and civil society should have close interaction additionally the individuals who have surplus sustenance should impart it to the less-blessed individuals of the general public, he included. CM said that the purpose of observing this day is to accelerate the efforts to solve problems arising from food scarcity and Punjab Government is taking all necessary steps to solve the issues of food deficiency.

He said that government has provided various privileges in the agriculture sector in order to ensure food security and it is the prime priority of government to ensure availability of food to every person by maintaining balance between demand and supply of food. Likewise Punjab government has given the historical Kisan package pertaining to shortage of food and this historical package worth of billion rupees has shed positive impacts on agriculture sector’s advancement.

CM said that the development and prosperity of the farmer is actually the development and prosperity of Pakistan as the progress of farmer will surely minimize the possibility of food shortage. He said Kisan Package is being actualized adequately for increasing per acre production and development of agriculture also government is focusing on introducing farmers-friendly policies in order to ensure availability of sufficient food. SO this is today’s message that we need to ensure implementation of devised policies honestly in order to cope with the issue of non-availability of food. CM said that we have to reassure the fact that all the resources of country will be utilized to meet nutritional need timely.
