Islamabad: Widespread intermittent rain accompanied by wind and thundershowers is anticipated in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Islamabad, Punjab, Northeast Balochistan, southeast Sindh, and Gilgit-Baltistan over the next twelve hours. Heavy to very heavy rainfall may also occur in isolated areas during this period.According to Radio Pakistan, the temperature recorded in major cities this morning included Islamabad and Quetta at twenty-four degrees centigrade, Lahore and Peshawar at twenty-six, Karachi at twenty-nine, Gilgit at twenty, Murree at fifteen, and Muzaffarabad at twenty-two degrees centigrade. The weather forecast for Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir predicts cloudy weather with possible rain, wind, and thundershowers expected in Srinagar, Jammu, Leh, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian, and Baramula.The recorded temperatures this morning for these areas were eighteen degrees centigrade in Srinagar, Anantnag, and Baramula, twenty-five in Jammu, eight in Leh, and seventeen in Pulwama and Shopian . Meanwhile, the Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued a warning regarding a significant rise in water levels in rivers and streams across Gilgit-Baltistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. This is due to accelerated snow and glacier melt, along with recent rainfall.According to the PMD, these conditions could lead to localized flooding and riverbank erosion, posing potential challenges in the affected areas.
