Doha: Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Chaudhry Salik Hussain has emphasized that the welfare of overseas Pakistani workers remains a top priority for the government. He was addressing a 40-member delegation representing over 300,000 overseas Pakistanis in Doha.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Minister assured the delegation that overseas Pakistanis can directly reach out to him for the resolution of their problems and issues. He informed them that, following the directions of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, most proposals presented during the Overseas Pakistanis Conference held in Islamabad have already been implemented, while work on the remaining recommendations is progressing rapidly.
Chaudhry Salik Hussain instructed Pakistan’s Deputy Head of Mission in Doha to initiate an awareness campaign highlighting the welfare initiatives introduced by the Government for overseas Pakistanis. This campaign aims to ensure that more community members can benefit from these services. Additionally, he directed the provision of comprehensive guidance and support in processing insurance claims in unfortunate cases of the death of an overseas Pakistani.
The delegation, which included entrepreneurs, senior professionals, and representatives of both skilled and semi-skilled workers, commended the reforms within the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation. They acknowledged the robust measures taken for expatriates and praised Chaudhry Salik Hussain’s personal dedication and commitment to enhancing services for the Pakistani diaspora.
The Pakistani community in Qatar also expressed appreciation for Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, and Federal Minister Chaudhry Salik Hussain for their initiatives and continuous efforts for the welfare of overseas Pakistanis. Secretary Workers Welfare Fund, Zulfiqar Ahmed, and Pakistan’s Deputy Head of Mission in Doha were also present on the occasion.
