Very Cold Conditions Expected in Hilly Areas: PMD


Islamabad: Mainly cold and dry weather is anticipated across most parts of the country during the next twelve hours, with very cold conditions expected in hilly areas, particularly during the morning and night.



According to Radio Pakistan, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has indicated that shallow to moderate smog or fog may develop in patches over the plain areas of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, especially during the morning and night hours.



The temperatures recorded this morning were as follows: Islamabad at six degrees centigrade, Lahore at twelve, Karachi at sixteen, Peshawar at ten, Quetta at minus-one, Gilgit at minus-three, Murree at four, and Muzaffarabad at five degrees centigrade.



For the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir region, the weather forecast predicts cold and dry conditions with very cold mornings in areas such as Srinagar, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian, and Baramula. The weather in Leh is expected to be very cold and dry, while Jammu is likely to experience dry weather. The morning temperatures recorded in these areas include minus-one degree centigrade in Srinagar, Pulwama, and Baramula, nine in Jammu, minus-eight in Leh, and zero in Anantnag and Shopian.
