Hangu: Three police personnel, including Superintendent of Police Asad Zubair Khan, have been martyred when their vehicle hit an IED in the Darband area of district Hangu today.

According to Radio Pakistan, a police constable was also injured in the blast and was shifted to DHQ hospital Hangu for treatment. In response to the incident, police have initiated a search operation in the area to apprehend the culprits.

Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Afridi has condemned the Hangu IED blast and has requested an immediate report from the Inspector General of Police. In a statement issued in Peshawar, the Chief Minister also called for a meeting of the Apex Committee to review the law and order situation in the province. He stated that those responsible for the incident will be brought to justice, emphasizing that the sacrifices of the martyred SP Operations and the two police personnel will not be in vain.
