Islamabad: The second meeting of the Committee on Potato Export, chaired by Minister for National Food Security Rana Tanveer Hussain, took place in Islamabad today, focusing on the current situation of potato production, surplus stocks, and export facilitation measures.According to Radio Pakistan, Rana Tanveer Hussain highlighted the pressing need to utilize the existing export opportunities, especially targeting Central Asian markets, in order to alleviate domestic supply pressures and prevent farmers from having to sell their produce at low prices.He instructed all relevant departments to accelerate the resolution of pending issues, address operational challenges, and ensure the efficient movement of surplus stock. The Minister reiterated the government's dedication to supporting farmers, stabilizing market rates, and boosting Pakistan's agricultural exports through strategic and timely interventions.He underscored the importance of swiftly implementing practical solutions to protect the interests o f growers while enhancing Pakistan's competitive stance in regional markets.
